Research Guide on Wills: With Special Emphasis on New York: ORGANIZATIONS

This Research guide will discuss the laws of wills and decedent's estates in New York and also contain a general discussion on the laws of wills and the Uniform Probate Code.

American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law

The ABA Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law has a focus on all aspects of trusts and wills including estate planning, taxation, probate and trust administration, and litigation.  Publications include RPTE eReport, which is a bi-monthly publication of the RPTE Section and includes practical information for lawyers.  Probate and Property is also a bi-monthly magazine which is designed to give lawyers practical information regarding real estate, wills, trusts and estate planning to better serve their clients.  The RPTE Law Journal is a scholarly journal that is published 4 times a year with assistance from the University of South Carolina School of Law. 

New York State Bar Association Trusts and Estates Law Section

All attorneys who practice in the field of trusts and estates in New York should join the Trusts and Estates Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.  It  provides continuing education to the practitioner and is involved in all aspects of trusts and estates.  The web page for this section contains the Section Newsletter and has forms available for download.
